In the USA, when the very well conducted Women's Health Initiative, was fonally reported (about 3 years late) and showed that the benefits of the recommended high carbohydrate and low fat diet, for obesity, cancer and cardio-vascular disease didn't exist, the results were burried. When the Banting diet was so successful in South Africa, the guarians of the South African Dietary Guidelines, as Stalenbosch Univerity, set out to attack Prof. Tomothy Noakes, the Banting Diet and "The Real Mean Revolution". Dieticians in Australia launched a successful campaing against Dr Gary Fettke in Austrailia, that led to banning hi from speakig to the public about dietary matters,"for which he had no qualification" (Dr Fettke is a surgeon) In the USA, Dr Richard Bernstein, himself a Type I Diabetic, discovered that a very low carbohydrate diet made the contol of blood glucose so much easier (the law of small numbers) and tried to make that public, for 20 years the medical establishment and the American Diabetes Assiciation tried to discredit him.

Dr Paul Mason was invited to present on Nutrition at the prestigious Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Annual Scientific Congress, agreeing to provide a 40-45 minute lecture..

Three weeks before the conference, Dr Mason was notified that the offered time allocation had been reduced by half. No official explanation was provided, however there were suggestions in informal discussions that there may have been some ‘behind the scenes’ influence. No evidence was ever provided to support this, and after some intervention from one of the section convenors, the presentation time was restored.

Included in his session was Professor Linda Tapsell, who was a key player in the development of Australia’s current dietary guidelines. In her presentation, Professor Tapsell made the point that the Dietitians’ association did not, as claimed by Dr Mason, develop the Dietary guidelines. This rebuttal was correct. Rather, the DAA (now Dietitians Australia) was commissioned by the NHMRC to conduct systematic literature reviews to assist in the development of the dietary guidelines. There were no other significant points of rebuttal raised to Dr Mason’s presentation

That same additive was nearly banned in America in the 1970s – until lobbying from the meat industry discredited the scientists. We reveal how, to impede or halt regulations on certain additives, lobbyists have been working in the shadows for decades.

At the heart of this strategy are the scientists who collaborate, who receive generous compensation for studies that promote meat consumption. In conjunction with this, those whose work finds health risks associated with meat are ‘shot down’.

From Brittany to Denmark, through California and Wisconsin, director Sandrine Rigaud conducted a year-long investigation on the tactics of the meat industry.

This story is like the genetic changes in wheat to produce greater yield. But also more gluten in the wheat, which for many of us causes problems. I'm sure that none of the tommatoes I can now buy in the shops tase anything like the tommatoes we ysed to get when I was a teenager. This video may explain why. My own theory is that crops are now grown in depleated soils. Chemical fertilisers might make the crops grow, but the soil can't provide what it doesn't have.

Sixty years of producing standardized fruit and vegetables and creating industrial hybrids have had a dramatic impact on their nutritional content. In the past 50 years, vegetables have lost 27% of their vitamin C and nearly half of their iron.

Take the tomato. Through multiple hybridizations, scientists are constantly producing redder, smoother, firmer fruit. But in the process, it has lost a quarter of its calcium and more than half of its vitamins. The seeds that produce the fruits and vegetables we consume are now the property of a handful of multinationals, like Bayer, and Dow-Dupont, who own them.

These multinationals have their seeds produced predominantly in India, where workers are paid just a handful of rupees while the company has a turnover of more than 2 billion euros. A globalized business where the seed sells for more than gold.

According to FAO, worldwide, 75% of the cultivated varieties have disappeared in the past 100 years. Loss of nutrients, privatization of life, We reveal the industrialists’ great monopoly over our fruit and veg.
