The Battle Creek Sanitarium
The whole business of vegetarian diets, and fake meat becoming really popular didn't come out of nowhere. 19th-and-20th-century adherents of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church have been very active in developing businesses selling cereals, baking goods, meat substitutes, and promoting soy-milk and the use of tofu.
Many business enterprises were established in addition to the Kellogg brand. (Worthington, Sanitarium, Loma Linda Foods, Dunkin Donuts, over 100 I'm told.)
