Every woman knows that carbohydrates are fattening.
This is common knowledge which few nutritionists would dispute.
(Why did we forget that?)
The new science is telling us that our grand parents (Pre WWII) actually ate a diet that was more healthy.
My memory of that time was that family roast meals were common; at least once a week.
My father used to encourage me to eat the fat, and I can remember resisting that.
This looks very much like the meals we used to eat, when I was a child.
Red meat almost always. In those times chicken was expensive.
The remains of the roast might be part of meals or lunches for the next 2-3 days.
Although our house now has more roast meals, again, today we often cook chicken because it's cheaper.
