Sugar Consumption

Download (link above) a free 23 page report from the Credit Suisse Research Institute. It's a PDF in colour. Easy to read and very informative. Dated September 2013.

This is a relatively short informative summary, with sections on the new science on sugar, diabetes and obesity.

There was also a report - "Fat: The New Health Paradigm" (2015) but I can't find it now.

The link between saturated fat intake and cardiovascular risk has never been proven.

The driver of high fasting blood fats is actually carbohydrate (sugars, whole-grains, potatoes, rice), not fat.

The focus on good and bad cholesterol is superficial at best and most likely misleading.

Medical research has shown that eating cholesterol has no influence on the level of cholesterol in the blood or on the potential for heart disease.
